The importance of responsiveness.
The website Small Biz Trends defines responsive web design as follows: "Responsive Web design is an approach whereby a designer creates a Web page that “responds to” or resizes itself depending on the type of device it is being seen through." You can read the full article here.
Why is this important you may ask. Primarily for two resons.
Firstly, some search engines such as Google may penalize your site if it is not responsive in design. You can read more about it here. Other sites such as Facebook have taken a similar approach to Google and will not support non-responsive sites. This could have potentially expensive consequences for any marketing strategy your business has planned. Imagine paying a marketing company to design and set up a marketing strategy for your business and then to fall at the last hurdle because your website is non-responsive.
Secondly, South Africa has 21 million internet users of which the majority are using mobile devices to access the internet, according to a 2017 study undertaken by World Wide Worx. You can read the Forbes article here. So, if your website is not responsive, you are probably losing out on a huge slice of potential customers.
